1. Arvs (Orzysz, A66)
Between May and August 1947, the former German troop training ground
at Arys was occupied by airborne units in approximate strength of
two brigades. They were equipped with infantry weapons and smoke
shell mortars. During field maneuvers, two types of gliders were
employed, each accommodating forty to sixty men with full equipment,
Landings were practised in all kinds of weather and there was some

No air activity has been observed at Rangsdorf since mid-August. No

This field, built between 1935-1937 and used as a GAF basic training
ground, has approximately 110 buildings, all of which were occupied
by the Russians in early September.. Air activity has increased.
Double road blocks have been set up on adjacent roads snd all through
traffic halted. A few former German Lufthansa pilots, recently return-
ed fr-,~n Russia, are acting as alight instructors.
