Party in 5Santiago, r: e, nas a .a d. the e penjibire of a million and a
half pesos for,the aurchase of a radio station. Ve]odia Teitelboim, head of
the Press and Propaganda section of the Central. Committee, has been appointed
chairman of a come-ittee to conduct negotiations for the purchase.
Two radio stations are under consideration: Radio Santa Lucia and Radio
Cervantes. Radio Santa Lucia is considered to be the most likely prospect.
Negotiations a being conducted through a front organization, Sociedad de
Edicioncs Tecnicas, publishing house of the magazines Arte y .t&g_tM and

3. At the some meeting in which approval was given for the purchase of a, radix
staaation, there wa.s discussed a proposal to make a two-reel propaganda film
attacking Bernardo 1'oanez and the Socialist Party as tools of "Yankee
Inper1a ..i.sm.," It wns proposed to have the picture wade locally by a producer
named Parnes. However, the estimate of 190,000 pesos, su fitted b,-,,- Parnes, was
?e'iected as being too high
