1. Approximately 500 men are stationed at Warnemende in permanent billets. Their
task is to maintain and provision the motor boats patrolling the coast. A
Pole named. Jaroty Is at the head of these men, half of whom are Poles and Ger-
mans, who teach seamanship to Russian youths recently arrived from the USSR.
The Russians are between 16 and 20 years of age. The Customs Station, renamed
Skole, now houses between 200 and 250 students.
2. The commandant of the school is an old Russian officer named Orlov, who is a
member of the Communist Party. It is his duty to supervise the activities of
the Pole Jaroty.
