force capability and survivability of theij- ICBM
Forces and what observable trend's in Soviet tech--
nologv suL or_ttheir ~r ress and objecti.ves?
Emphasize the gathering of hard data, such as recovered re-
entry vehicles and on observed improvements such as range
instrumentation which may indicate new trends in reentry
vehicle accuracy.
2. (S) Rationale for this change: Current holdings pre-
sentl.y lack an understanding of the Soviet desire for and
? attainment of improved accuracy in their reentry systems.
This is considered to be a major shortcoming which has only
recently been identified.
