Approved For Release 1999/09/10 : CIA-RDP82-00283R000100110013-1 Approved For Rele4gp 1999/09/10 : CIA-RDP82-002&000100110013-1 25X1A9a EIC-M-6)+ 29 November 1957 CONSIDERATION OF EIC-RI-S6, "COMMUNIST CHINA'S IMPORTS AND EXPORTS, 1956: TRADE AND TRANSPORT INVOLVED" 2. Discussion: The draft report on "Communist China's , Imports. and Exports, 1956: Trade and Transport Involved" (EIC-Rl-S6), prepared and approved by the Working Group, was reviewed. The Chairman indicated that he considered this report the best in the series and that the Working Group members should be commended for their preparation of the report. Mr. Terrill also indicated that he considered the report of high quality and the members of the Working Group deserving of commendation. The other members concurred. Chairman of the Working Group, thanked the other Working Group members for their efforts and cooperation. The EIC, after making minor revisions in the Working Group draft, approved EIC-Rl..S6, and agreed that the Chairman should transmit it to the IAC for its approval. The EIC unanimously commended the Working Group for its preparation of this report. SECURITY CLASSIFICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP ON EIC SUBCOMMITTEES. 4. Discussion: Mr. Holmes stated that the present requirement that documents indicating the affiliation of individuals with specific EIC Subcommittees or Working Groups have a SECRET security classification raised problems in his agency. He requested that consideration be given to downgrading the classification of such documents to CONFIDENTIAL. It was agreed that this matter would be investigated, and a report made to the EIC.
