THREE PROBABLE ASM FACILITIES IDENTIFIED AT
PARNU, BOBRUYSK AND ORSHA SOUTHWEST AIRFIELDS.
THERE ARE 15 CONFIRMED ASM FACILITIES IN THE
USSR: ONE AT AKHTUBINSK/VLADIMIROVKA FLIGHT
TEST CENTER, 6 AT LONG RANGE AIR ASSOCIATED
AIRFIELDS, AND 8 AT NAVAL AIR FORCE ASSOCIATED
AIRFIELDS. PARNU IS THE FIRST AIR DEFENSE
FIGHTER AIRFIELD HAVING AN ASM STORAGE FACILITY.
THERE ARE 4 TYPES OF ASM MISSILES OPERATIONAL
IN THE USSR:
AS-1 (KENNEL): THE FIRST OPERATIONAL MISSILE IN
THE USSR,THE KENNEL IS A SWEPT-WING MISSILE WITH
CARRIED BY THE BADGER "B" AIRCRAFT.
AS-2 (KIPPER): A SWEPT-WING MISSILE,
OVERALL, WITH RANGE OF 100 NM. CARRIED BY BADGER
"C" AIRCRAFT.

BOBRUYSK AIRFIELD: 8,150 X 270 FT E/W CONCRETE
AND 8,675 X 265 FT E/W SOD RUNWAYS.
ORSHA AIRFIELD SOUTHWEST: 8,315 X 290 FT NE/SW
CONCRETE RUNWAY.
U/I MISSILES: 25 FT OVERALL (APPROX.)
9. MISSION READOUT: PARNU AIRFIELD: A DOUBLE-FENCED, PROBABLE ASM
STORAGE FACILITY CONSISTING OF 2 DRIVE-THROUGH BUILDINGS AND ONE SUPPORT
BUILDING IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION 900 FT NW OF THE SW END OF THE RUNWAY. IT
IS SIMILAR TO THOSE AT BOBRUYSK AND ORSHA SOUTHWEST AIRFIELDS. FACILITIES
ALSO INCLUDE ILS AND GCA. AN AIR WARNING RADAR FACILITY CONSISTING OF 4
RADAR MOUNDS (2 OCCUPIED WITH ONE RANGE AND AZIMUTH FINDER AND ONE HEIGHT
FINDER RADAR) IS LOCATED 4,000 FT SE OF THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. OB: 5
BREWER, 21 FIREBAR-TYPE, ONE FARMER, 3 FAGOT, AND ONE CREEK.

BOBRUYSK AIRFIELD: THE FACILITY PREVIOUSLY REPORTED NE OF RUNWAY
IS A PROBABLE ASM FACILITY IN THE FINAL STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION. IT HAS
A T-SHAPED DRIVE-THROUGH BUILDING AND A RECTANGULAR DRIVE-THROUGH BUILD-
ING, AND IS SIMILAR TO THOSE AT ORSHA AIRFIELD SOUTHWEST AND PARNU AIR-
FIELD. OB: 53 BADGER.
ORSHA AIRFIELD SOUTHWEST: CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES ON THE PREVIOUSLY
REPORTED FACILITY NOW IDENTIFIED AS A PROBABLE ASM FACILITY LOCATED 1 NM
SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. IT IS SIMILAR TO THE ONES AT PARNU
AND BOBRUYSK AIRFIELDS. LOCATED WITHIN THIS FACILITY ARE 3 POSSIBLE UN-
IDENTIFIED MISSILES MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 25 FT IN LENGTH. OB: 49
BADGER, AND 2 CAB.
