Approve 01/23: CIA-RDP78T05929 TOP SECRET c) NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION CENTER 2X1 X May 1966 Page 1 Copy STATIC TEST FACILITY PRIMORSK, USSR WHEN FIRST IDENTIFIED THE INSTALLATION CONTAINED ONE VERTICAL TEST AREA AND TWO POSSIBLE HORIZON- TAL TEST AREAS, A SUPPORT AREA, AND AN AREA OF NEW CONSTRUCTION AT THE SOUTHEAST EDGE OF THE FACILITY. THE VERTICAL TEST STAND WAS REPORTED TO BE IN THE LATE STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION, WHILE THE HORIZONTAL TEST POSITIONS WERE COMPLETE. ALL 3 TEST SITES ARE SITUATED IN SPECIALLY PREPARED HILLSIDE CUTTINGS A- LONG THE WESTERN SHORE OF LAKE VYSOKINSKOYE, THE MAIN PART OF THE FACILITY WAS CONSTRUCTED BETWEEN 1956 AND SEP 1963. SINCE THEN THE AREA AT THE SOUTHEAST END HAS BEEN FENCED OFF, AND A BUILD- ING ERECTED, GROUND SCARRING INDICATED POSSIBLE FURTHER CONSTRUCTION. SEVERAL BUILDINGS ARE PRESENT AT THE LATTER LOCATION AS WELL AS A SERIES OF CONNECTED HORIZONTAL POSSIBLE PRESSURE TANKS. A MICROWAVE ANTENNA IS ALSO LOCATED IN THIS AREA.
