WHEN FIRST IDENTIFIED THE INSTALLATION CONTAINED
ONE VERTICAL TEST AREA AND TWO POSSIBLE HORIZON-
TAL TEST AREAS, A SUPPORT AREA, AND AN AREA OF NEW
CONSTRUCTION AT THE SOUTHEAST EDGE OF THE FACILITY.
THE VERTICAL TEST STAND WAS REPORTED TO BE IN THE
LATE STAGES OF CONSTRUCTION, WHILE THE HORIZONTAL
TEST POSITIONS WERE COMPLETE. ALL 3 TEST SITES ARE
SITUATED IN SPECIALLY PREPARED HILLSIDE CUTTINGS A-
LONG THE WESTERN SHORE OF LAKE VYSOKINSKOYE,
THE MAIN PART OF THE FACILITY WAS CONSTRUCTED
BETWEEN 1956 AND SEP 1963. SINCE THEN THE AREA AT
THE SOUTHEAST END HAS BEEN FENCED OFF, AND A BUILD-
ING ERECTED, GROUND SCARRING INDICATED POSSIBLE
FURTHER CONSTRUCTION.

ROCKET ENGINE TEST STAND AND AN ADDITIONAL POSSIBLE VERTICAL TEST STAND,
SEVERAL SMALL HORIZONTAL TEST POSITIONS MAY ALSO BE PRESENT: ONE OR MORE
NEAR THE NORTH END OF THE FACILITY ON THE LAKE SHORE AND A MULTIPLE POSI-
TION SITE ON A POINT OF LAND NEAR THE CENTER OF THE FACILITY.
SEVERAL BUILDINGS ARE PRESENT AT THE LATTER LOCATION AS WELL AS A SERIES
OF CONNECTED HORIZONTAL POSSIBLE PRESSURE TANKS. A MICROWAVE ANTENNA IS ALSO
LOCATED IN THIS AREA. SEVERAL CYLINDRICAL OBJECTS IN OPEN STORAGE AND SCAT-
TERED AT RANDOM ARE VISIBLE AT THE NORTH AND SOUTH ENDS OF THE MAIN SUPPORT
