SIGNIFICANCE: STORAGE COMPLEX KUEI-YANG, CHINA WITH COVERAGE ON THIS MISSION REVEALS A SUB- STANTIAL INCREASE IN VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT IN THE STORAGE COMPLEX. 2. REMARKS: KUEI-YANG IS LOCATED ON THE RAIL LINE CON- NECTING THE SSU-CHUAN BASIN WITH THE RAIL SYSTEMS ==N SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST CHINA AND NORTH VIETNAM VIA LIU-CHOU, CHINA. IN AD- DITION, A RAIL LINE UNDER CONSTRUCTION EX- TENDING SOUTHWEST FROM KUEI-YANG WILL CON- NECT THESE RAIL SYSTEMS WITH KUN-MING AND YUN- NAN PROVINCE IN SOUTHWEST CHINA. THE STORAGE COMPLEX CONSISTS OF 2 AREAS ("A" & "B"). REANALYSIS OF AREA "A" PHOTO- GRAPHY PREVIOUS TO FIRST IDENTIFICATION I REVEALED THAT INITIAL CONSTRUCTION ON THIS DEPOT WAS EVIDENT IN DEC 62. GROUND SCARRING AND SOME PARTIALLY COMPLETED STORAGE BUILDINGS WERE ALSO OB- SERVED. REVEALED 4 BARRACKS, 46 STORAGE BUILDINGS (11 UNDER CONSTRUCTION), 41 STORAGE/SUPPORT BUILDINGS, ONE RAIL TRANSSHIP- MENT BUILDING, ONE SECURED AREA, AND 2 WATER TANKS. A. CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF UNIDENTIFIED MATERIAL WAS OBSERVED STORED BETWEEN BUILDINGS. VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT OBSERVED INCLUDED 126 CARGO TRUCKS, ONE TRUCK TRACTOR WITH TANK TRAILER AND 15 UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLES. AN ADDITIONAL RAIL SPUR WAS OBSERVED UNDER CONSTRUCTION EAST OF AREA "A" AND EXTENDING OFF FROM THE KUEI-YANG/LIU-CHOU RAIL LINE. THE CONSTRUCTION IS CONTINUING ON THE RAIL SPUR TO THE STORAGE DEPOT WITH THE RAIL BED APPEARING COMPLETE. SOME RAIL TIES ARE OBSERVED IN PLACE. CONSTRUC- TION CONTINUES ON THE RAIL LINE EAST OF THE STORAGE DEPOT. AREA "B": 430 RAILROAD CARS, 50 RAIL TANK CARS, 150 CARGO TRUCKS, 2 CRANES, 5 TRACTOR-TRAILER TANK TRUCKS, AND 125 UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLES/ PIECES OF EQUIPMENT ARE OBSERVED. LUMBER AND OTHER UNIDENTIFIED MATERIALS ARE OBSERVED IN OPEN STORAGE THROUGHOUT AREA "B". NUMEROUS BARRELS ARE STACKED IN OPEN STORAGE IN THE POL STORAGE AREA.
