1. SIGNIFICANCE: THIS IS THE CLOSEST POINT TO THE CHINA/
NORTH VIETNAM BORDER THAT FISHBED AIRCRAFT
HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED AND IS THE FIRST TIME
FISHBED AIRCRAFT HAVE BEEN OBSERVED AT THIS
FIELD.
2. REMARKS :
MENG-?TZU AIRFIELD WEST ON
THE FIRST Jji FIGHTERS OBSERVED IN NORTH
VIETNAM WERE CHINESE AIRCRAFT TRANSFERRED
FROM MENG-TZU AIRFIELD WEST TO PHUC YEN
AIRFIELD NEAR HANOI IN EARLY AUGUST 1964.
FARMER AIRCRAFT WERE FIRST OBSERVED AT
THIS FIELD ON
AIRCRAFT: 36 FRESCO, WERE FIRST OBSERVED AT
35 NN[ NORTH OF THE CHINA/NORTH VIETNAM BORDER,
APPRCXIMATELY 95 tiM NORTHEAST OF THE CHINA/
LAOS BORDER, AND APPROXIMATELY 155 NM NORTHEAST
OF THE CHINA/BURMA BORDER AT 2324N 10319E.
