SUBJECT: Relationships Between DD/I and DD/S&I

1. Paragraph 9 of the so-called interface agreement has
general applicability to OSI-produced NIS (Sections 7 and 4+5)
and does not require change.
2. Paragraph 10 has some relevance to the processing
of NIS Section 7 (Scientific). It does not conflict with
current practice and, from an NIS point of view, does not
require change. Contributions to Sections 7 from Defense
and CIA contractor are consolidated by OSI and submitted to
JAEIC (for nuclear energy only) and to SIC for coordination
and review before submission to OBI. In addition, JAEIC
and SIC approve the selection of areas for NIS scientific
coverage.
