The changes in the Geographic Area write-up of mission and functions concern the Geography Division and result from a recent official. approval of the abolition of the Territorial Stuc i.es Branch 2.rd the creation of the Coordination Staff. 3 Wwill be on leave for three weeks starting Friday afternoon and -rill act as Area Chief during his absence. 25X1A9a 4r. commented that during his absence 25X1A9a will prepare drafts of the Wor'_r Program Paper and the revision to the Career Development paper, under the guidance of 25X1A9a 5. commented that two new employees reported to D/GG 25X1A9a yesterday. will work on the Coordination Staff and is ;rith the Far East Branch. also is to be a 25X1A9a 25X1A9a member of the Coordination 'Staff . 25X1A9a 6. brought up the question of procedures to be followed 25X1A9a in reauesti_ng photostats. Seventeen people are now on duty, 16 are in process and 11 are being considered for employment. 25X1A9a 9. discussed the problem of 25X1A9a reproducing TTP materials. - has been working on the problem of reproducing this material for vital storage for D/GP and other needs. 25X1 A9a commented that LD/CD should be contacted concerning the possibility of getting extra copies, and that if extra copies cannot be obtained, then the reproduction problem should be presented to Logistics. This study is to be treated as Confidential until it is released by the Government of Burma. D/GP wants two copies and some of the service units will need copies. This problem was referred to 25X1A9a 25X1A9a 12. reported a recent request from DD/P for a set of the 1:25;000 series on Bulgaria, and that now DD/P wants sixty copies. The geographer probably could not be a CIA employee. 25X1 A9a retorted that the Special Support Branch has 25X1 A9a encountered problems in its relations with OCT. of OCI prepares a preliminary work sheet for maps to be done by the Special Support Branch and this means a waste of one day, as the work sheet i.s not needed. Another problem with OCI involves the use of OCI-preferred -)lace names rather than BGN names. stated that the problem 25X1 A9a of consistent use of BGN ncx es by all of CIA should be considered, since CL? supports BGP? in the rwIS Gazetteer program.
