MEMORANDUM FOR: Executive Assistant, OC
25X1 A FROM : Chief, _ OC
SUBJECT : Increased Use of ADP Processes
REFERENCE : OC-M-70-703
1. The storage and retrieval capabilities of MAX-II, and to
a lesser degree the new ACT system, combined with the Management
Information System (Work Study) still under development should
25X1 A satisfy ~ short term operational and long term statistical
requirements. We plan to include control of crypto inventories
using ADP techniques and have and will continue to evaluate auto-
mated measurement systems for analysis of high bit rate communica-
tions systems.
2. For long-range planning purposes, r recommend that OC
initiate a study to investigate the feasibility of time-shared
applications on a world-wide basis using existing teletype cir-
cuitry, teletype equipment, and teletype codes and routing pro-
cedures. This effort need not be as extensive nor as complex
as the SIPS system but could be integrated with an automated RMS
document storage and retrieval system. It should be able to respond
on a tip-shared basis to simple interrogation routines (retrieval
requests) introduced to EMS data banks containing a variety of
information in the logistics, personnel, administrative, and opera-
tional fields.
