ADDITIONS TO GMAIC CONTRIBUTIONS TO NIE 4-3- 1
1. Insert - 3rd page - continue from last sentence on page - new paragraph.
Selected "Nth" Countries either are being or may be supplied with complete
missile or rocket delivery systems through foreign aid agreements or purchases.
These delivery systems will most probably be short range types only, equipped
with H.E. warheads. In the event that it was desirable or necessary to
provide nuclear warheads for these delivery systems, the control and utilization
of these devices would be entirely by the sponsoring country.
U.S. German troops have completed training and launch sites have been constructed.
West Germany now (1961) has a delivery capability using the Redstone missile.

A recently compI ed arms agreement between Indonesia and the USSR included
the supply of an air-to-surface missile to Indonesia. This missile is believed

missile which is estimated to have a nuclear delivery
capability to a range of 55 miles.

Nationalist China
The U.S. has supplied Nationalist China with the complete Matador system.

These surface-to-surface cruise missiles are n in the hands 6f Vrained
troops. Nationalist China already (1961) has a limited delivery capability
using the Matador.

United Arab Republic
On 22 July 1961 the UAR reportedly attempted to launch a single stage
liquid fueled ballistic missile, which blew up on the launchin _pad. The
UAR has since 1951 been interested in.sch.ieving a native developed missile
delivery capability. Since 1959 the UAR has appareptly bee wgrk ng on a
surface-to-surface missile project utilizing primarily West German missile
