dated 1 April 1,058, are requested to substitute the attached
revised page 5, and to destroy the first corrigendum of 10 April
by burning or pulping.

II. SURFACE-TO-AIR GUIDED MISSILgS

9. During the period of this estimate the USSR f ill have
requirements for surface-to-air guided missiles ACS 'engage
effectively subsonic and supersonic aircraft and non-ballistic
missiles, hypersonic ballistic missiles and glide vehicles,
and earth satellites. These target systems will operate at
altitudes ranging from 50 feet to 85,000 feet in the atmos-
phere and to several hundred miles in space. Confusion and
saturation tactics and electronic countermeasures will be
employed. Radar cross sections will vary from 0.1 to several
hundred square meters.
Counter Aircraft and Cruise-Type Missiles
10. There is a current requirement, continuing through
1966, for static and mobile all-weather systems with
altitude capability up to 70,000 feet and horizontal ranges
of at least 25 nautical miles with either nuclear or high
explosive warhead.
11. There is a current requirement, continuing through
1966, for a static all-weather system with altitude capa-
bilities of about 90,000 feet and a horizontal range on
the order of 100 nautical miles with either nuclear or high
explosive warhead.
12. There is a current requirement, continuing through
1966, for static and mobile all-weather systems providing
low altitude coverage (down to 50 feet) and a range of at
least 10 nautical miles with high explosive warhead.
