Dear Heinz,
Further to your letter to me of 9 June and my brief reply
of 7 July. We have reached a decision as to the form of recogni-
tion we wish to make of Allen's role in the construction of our
building. It will be a bas relief head or bast as part of a bronze
plaque in the main entrance way to the building. While this may
not provide the most aesthetic benefit to the building, considering
all the factors involved I feel we have the right solution.
We are all keen to have you undertake the work as you in-
dicated you were willing to do. We have asked Allen to agree to
some sittings for you this fall. The matter of timing has gone no
farther than this. It would be useful if you could indicate to me
roughly what times you would like to most with Allen so that I may
coordinate this with his plans when I learn of them.
Our current thinking is to place the plaque on the right wall
upon entering the glass doors at the main entrance way approxi-
mately opposite the Biblical quotation from John on the left wall.
However, we shall want to have your advice on location as well as
the size and shape of the plaque. We are also considering some
changes in the lighting in this area which would cast a strong ver.
tical light down on the marble walls.
