(S/NOFORN) Source 27.5 reported the following information regarding the target of intelligence interest at UTM coordinate at 15a8O hours May 1981 at the target. /0/?0 SG1A a. Source described a rounded blunt front end (cone) of a rocket or pro- jectile which was moving very slowly. b. Source described a valley area having rocky ground with a small town or village with a road around it. The activity in and-around this target area was allImilitary? and was described as being of great agitation, people hurrying at many jobs at one time. This activity was one at "full strength", sort of an "electrifying experience." Trucks and armor were observed in tightly deployed defensive positions and in a static/stationary condition. c. Source observed two back-to-back sensations of expanding white light similar to. explosions of some kind of incoming (ordnance). Source perceived that after the two white light explosions, military maneuver activity commenced and continued for some days in the area. 2. (S/NOFORN) On 23 May 1981, Source observed military convoy type activity in the area described as follows: a. Vehicles were observed coming together in a convoy and moving in a NW direction along high ground (ridgeland) to a distance of 40 to 50 miles from the target area. b. The vehicle convoy commander was described as being approximately 5'6" in height, 165 lbs in weight, greying at the temples with some starting baldness and a "heavy" nose. This individual was wearing a camouflage green uniform, and was described as not being a native of the country in which the target was located. 3. (S/NOFORN) On 29 May 1981 at 1200 hours at the target, Source described "no more activity", and perceived "nobody there", except one or two vehicles. Source stated that everything had moved on someplace else, and all was quiet (at the target).
