1. Applicants for the July 1971 Career Training Class are plentiful.
In fact, the probability is that there will be several suitable candidates
that will have to. delay EOD until this Fall because the July class will be
filled (capacity: approximately 25). This means that the CTP will be in
a very favorable position for selecting and filling the January 1972 class,
as well as having an outstanding group for the July 1971 class.
2. The retention rate (52% for the period January '64 .- January '71
versus 79% for non-military during the same period) of military Career
Trainees received another jolt this week when the last two active duty
military officers remainin in the Program resigned just prior to con-
version to civilian status.

USMC, plans to enter. graduate school at the University of Hawaii. Both
men were excellent prospects for productive Agency careers. Unfortun-
ately, they still are not sure what their real vocational goals should be
and felt that they should explore other career opportunities outside the
Agency. may re-apply for employment following completion of
graduate school in about two years.

visits to this week to counsel CT's enroll d in the BOC.
