Dear Bill:
This will confirm the agreement between Messrs. E.G., R.! .y
J.Ad.,... and zcurself on the revised Work Statement to Contract
wee copies of the revised Work Statement and six copies of
a referenced drawing are enclosed,
added to the Work Statement and will cover ta
all manufacturing drawings at the end of the contract.
A few words have been changed in paragraphs b? c, e, and
from that originally agreed upon, and rather than three drawings
there is now on one. Dra uin ; PA-1026 replaces Drawings PA-1023,
PA-1024 and PA-1025.
Two design changes were requested by you; (1), the installa
of opaque masks beneath the opalescent diffuser and (2), new des ,n

c. Provide a transverse feed screw and slide to move the light box in
relation to the microscope a minimum of 1-1/2" each side of the table ce=nter
line. Provide three bearings stabilising mechanism between the bottom ot_ the
light box and the rotating plate.

from the nominal position and incorporate a cam locking device or equivalent
which will positively lock the rotating plate in any position within the limits
of travel.
e. Provide a tilting mechanism using a gearing; arrangement in accordance
with Drawing No. PA-1028. The limits of tilting will be zero to ? __ The
mechanisms will be captive in all positions to prevent base failing away from
tilting plate if the instrument is lifted by its upper parts.

f. Provide a light table with at least 9-1/2" on a side of lighted --urface
but no more than 11-1/2" on a aide. The lighted surface of the table is to be
comprised of an opalescent plastic diffuser and 1/411 plate glass separated by a
cork spacer 1/4" or less in width around the perimeter of the ?lass top. The
viewing surface is to be supported on four sides of the light box. Edge of the
plate glass are to be polished sufficiently to prevent scratching film. The
glass is to firmly but not permanently be fastened to light box.
g. Provide twelve 8-watt florescent la*s arranged within the box'to give
even illumination at the viewing surface. Four switches will be provided to
operate the lamps - each switch will turn on 1/4 of the lamps. Two opaq.ie masks
will be added within the light box beneath the opalescent diffuser, one-on the
front of the box and one on the rear. These masks are to have a minimum travel
ofjl from the edge of the box.
