TAI YUAN IRON AND STEEL PLANTS
TAI YUAN, CHINA
The Tai Yuan Iron and Steel Plant is located on the north edge of
the city of Tai Yuan at 37 56N - 112 32E.
Production facilities in this complex include: two by-products coke
installations, the largest has one battery of coke ovens complete and
one under construction; five blast furnaces (one large, two medium and
two small); one open hearth furnace building, two side-blown converter
shops and various milling buildings.
The level of activity as observed on
was minimal. The only facilities emitting smoke were the two
coke oven installations, the open hearth building and the steam/power
plant. Very little rail traffic was observed throughout the complex.
