SUBJECT Completion and Termination of Contract Number
1. This contract was for the development of a second model proto-
type of the 1540 Split-Format Light Table by I of
A fixed-price incentive contract (delivery
incentive) for maximum incentive, the contractual
period of performance for all work was 3 November 1969 to 23 February 1970.
2. The prototype light table was delivered on 9 March 1970, and
was penalized accordingly for the late delivery. The overall performance
of the contractor was very good. The table was technically satisfactory,
and their management proved very responsive to our requests and direction.

at the same time for a parallel and competing development of a 1540 Light
Table. =was successful in this competition and was awarded a follow-on
-production contract for 436 tables at a total price of approximately
4. During performance of this contract, succeeded in developing
a superior film drive system that is very precise and easily controlled.
In the past, the PI has scanned material by moving the optics over the
stationary film. With the new film drive, the PI is able to scan material
through stationary optics by translating the film through the field of
view.
