SUBJECT: M LT
When the main power cord is pulled out over. the cross beam on the MLT-1540
units it has, occasionally, been sheared between the rear cross beam of the stand
and the elevation mechanism gear housing. This normally occurs when the table
is, being lowered in the horizontal position.
STAT
A recommended fix would be to install an eyelet on the inside bottom edge of
the cross beam directly behind the cable retractor. The eyelet diameter will
be larger than the 3 conductor cable to prevent any obstruction from pulling the
cable from or returning the cable to its housing. Yet the diameter will be smaller
than the round stop at the plug end of the cable, permanently positioning the .
cable under the cross beam and preventing the users of the MLT units from pulling
-the cord over the beam. This wouid stiii aiiow the cabie to be puiied our Through
a range of 1800 behind the table. -
The cost to manufacture 437 eyelets, supply the necessary hardware for installa-
tion and instructions to mount the eyelet is per unit. It is
requested that the above information be submitted to our Washington marketing
representative, I to determine if the customer is interested in
the modification so that we can submit formally an unsolicited proposal.
