1. In the Reference, advises you of the existence
of the subject work and briefly discusses its nature and potential
applicability to our photography.
2. When I was at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory sometime ago,
I visited nd saw some of his work myself. I think it is
very appropriate to our interests in real-time readout or data-link
type of acquisition material. I do not think his techniques are
practical for our type of conventional photography. At the processing
rate that is indicated in the reference, it would be far too time
consuming even for small areas of our high resolution material. In
addition the work is somewhat similar to that we are supporting by
3. I consulted on this matter, and he is also familiar
wit work. He understands that DD/S&T is supporting him
to some extent.. He does not feel that there is justification for our
becoming involved; however, he does recommend that we keep aware of the
development of these techniques.
4. I recommend that we thank for this information
and advise him that we did have some knowledge of it and through the
impetus of his letter will continue to maintain this knowledge through
occasional visits to the Jet Propulsion Lab when our monitors are in
that area. I do not believe involvement in this case is
necessary.
