It is now apparent that many of the technical tar eta of this investigation, as stated in the objectives of the proposal of 11 February 1965, which was made a part of this con ract, will not be achieved by the contract expiation date. Film samples recently received from the contractor indicate that gamma control is possible. However, there is nothing to in- dicate that either the D min of 0.1 or the D max of 3 can be achieved. Further, little or no progress has been made toward achieving a black and white film or one that gives the physiological sensation of black. There aiso.'remains to be solved serious fixing problem, to prevent fading of the image when exposed to strong actinic light. 2. It Iq stated in_progress report number 12 that the time remaining after 21 October will be devoted to the final report; therefore, we can expect little in the way of further progress on this effort under the existing contract. 0 UNCLAs6pip 'ed For ease 2005/typNfl,&ERfopdL8B0477 02800030018-1 ^ SECRET
