Within the Agency this requirement has been satisfied to the extent that a telephone is available to practically every employee. The additional requirement imposed by security in oral communication has been satisfied by the design, installation and use of the "gray telephone" system. Because the existence of the NPIC is based on the interpretation of photo- graphic images, it is apparent that a requirement exists for the secure and (cont' 19. In time it may prove to be both feasible and necessary to extend the CCTV system outside to the Headquarters Building, the Pentagon, etc. The overall value of CCTV has been demonstrated. in hundreds of installations in civil and governmental facilities throughout the country. In addition to the element of security, this project will be concerned with the availability and reliability of high-quality (i.e., 1000 lines or better) shelf items of TV equipment and the assembly of the TV camera euuipment with the light sources, microscopes, etc., used in photo interpretation.
