18. DESCRIPTION OF INTELLIGENCE REQUIREMENT AND DETAILED TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT (Continue on adds-

The requirement for oral communication has been established for many years.
Within the Agency this requirement has been satisfied to the extent that a

18. rapid transmission of visual information among photo-interpreters,
command personnel and support personnel. In time it may prove to be both
feasible and necessary to extend the CCTV system outside to
the Headquarters Building, the Pentagon, etc.
The overall value of CCTV has been demonstrated. in hundreds of installations
in civil and governmental facilities throughout the country. In addition to
the element of security, this project will be concerned with the availability
and reliability of high-quality (i.e., 1000 lines or better) shelf items of
TV equipment and the assembly of the TV camera euuipment with the light
sources, microscopes, etc., used in photo interpretation. This latter item
will probably account for the greatest cost as it will require the development
of fixtures to hold the light source, film, micrsocope and TV camera in
proper alignment.
