MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
DATE: l0 May 1966
PLACE:
Declass Review by NGA.
1. As a buyer from the U.S. Government, I talked to
about the characteristics and capabilities of the Video Di,,!c
II
manufactures only two items: a tape recorder and the video
disc recorder. This corporation does no R&D work, and is not interested in
doing any. It is a small, specialized company.
2. The Videodisc Recorder (approximately 10,000) is a dual channel
recorder (two heads-one on top and one below) will record 20 seconds of real
time imagery, and will "Freeze" of provide stop motion playback on any selected
frame for as long a period as desired. This equipment has a standard 2;1 inter-
lace and can record any world standard broadcast system by changing plug-in
modules or circuit cards within the recorder.
3. It appears that the disc recorder will fill all the requirements
necessary for the system for hard copy video tape system, without any
extensive modifications or "black-boxing."
