This report is one in a series on Soviet G-round Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a Dl.\ 'CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division ~NPIC). and the Production
Center IPla (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators tor
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. \\'hen a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (Ni) driver training areas, (N) tank
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery

Kamen-Rybolov Army Barracks NE is
located on the northeast edge of Kamen-Rybolov
on the shore of Lake Khanka- (Figure 1).
The installation covers approximately 1, 900
acres and contains 3 administration buildings,
18 barracks, 41 general storage buildings, 54
support buildings, 8 storage/support buildings,
2 probable explosive storage buildings, 8 prob-
able vehicle storage buildings, 2 probable ve-
hicle maintenance buildings, 3 driver-training
control and support buildings, 4 buildings associ-
ated with special training, an unidcntified multi-
wing building, a tracked-vehicle driver-training
course, and extensive random trackage (Figures
2 and 3).
The installation was covered by -KEY-
HOLE missions of interpretable quality between
and no major
changes were observed.
Winter coverage indicates moderate activity
throughout the installation, but no activity on the
driver-training course.
The presence of 24 aircraft on hardstands
indicates the possibility of a DOSAAF
or military mechanics school. The aircraft
were present on all coverage.
There are off-loading facilities within
Kamen-Rvbolov that probably serve the installa-
tion.
A sod airstrip is located approximately 2
km west of the barracks area.
Area D contains 2 administration buildings,
9 large barracks, 9 small barracks, 20 general
storage buildings, 41 support buildings, and an
unidentified multiwing building.
Area El contains 11 general storage build-
ings, 8 support buildings, and 4 probable storage
buildings located in a secured area.
Area L2 is a secured area with 2 storage
buildings.
Area 1_3 is a secured area with a storage
building and a support building.
Area 1:4 is a secured area with 3 storage
buildings and 2 support buildings.
Area F contains 2 probable explosive stor-
age buildings and 2 support buildings.
Area J contains eight 225- by 50- foot prob-
able vehicle storage buildings, two 100- by 3S-
foot probable vehicle maintenance buildings, 8
storage/Support buildings, and a probable ad-
ministration building.
Area K is an exercise track and probable
playing field.

Area M is a tracked-vehicle driver-training
area. An extensive closed circuit course and
heavy random trackage are located adjacent to

- Seven CAB, 2 medium unidentified straight-
wing, 13 possible BEAGLE, and 2 unidentified
possible aircraft are on hard-stands on the
western edge of the installation. There are no
taxiways to the airfield. There are 4 buildings
associated with the area.
Heavy trackage terminates at a small beach
approximately 3 km north of the installation.
