1. As a confirmation of our telephone conversation on
the 1st of September I would like to reassure ou of our.
continued desire for support of the reassure
effort in
digital image r Manipulation. Your support of this project
will significantly assist the Center in its efforts along
these lime .
2. It is understood that technical discussions between
25X1 F have delineated four
areas of mutual interest which you may support at about a

a. Partial support of the IBI 360 rental
b. Software for implementation of the light pen
capability.
c. Software to provide segmentation and sequential
area processing.
d. Non-Fourier analysis investigations.
Continuation of these tasks is of great importance to NPIC.
Should you for example, discontinue support, NPIC would have
to divert funds from other areas to assume full support of the
360 computer and full funding ca:C personnel involved who are
now split between the NPIC and contracts. While the
tasks listed. above arc primarily in support of your own
efforts, they serve as well to advance; the technology in
areas of direct interest to NPIC. The segmentation tech-
niques and the software to implement the light pen will
