635 PROGRESS REPORT
Period Covered: July 1966

PRESENT STATUS
All fabricated parts have been released with the ex-
ception of a few parts required for the high intensity tracking
light sources. Fabrication of parts is approximately 50/ complete.
The main castings have been subcontracted out for finish machining.
PROBLEM AREAS
Tracking Light Sources
The design problems with the high intensity
tracking light sources reported previously have not been resolved.
However, to prevent further delay in delivery, fabrication of the
balance of the instrument is under way, with the belief that the
remaining design problems will be resolved early in the assembly
phase.
The Product Engineer who is intimately as-
sociated with the project was taken ill and will not be avail-
able for a couple of months. The transferal of assembly respon-
sibility to another engineer might possibly cause a small delay
in the schedule.

PROJECTED WORK FOR AUGUST
Fabrication of parts will be 90% completed including
the main castings and mechanical assembly will be 50% complete.
