The series is being coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group. In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips, (D) administrative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am- munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (H) other buildings and facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields, (L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/ assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firingranges, (Q) artillery emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train- ing area or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified facilities or tracking activity. LOCATION OF NOVOGRUDOK BARRACKS AREA. 1 26?00' Approved For Release 2006/01/17 : CIA- 60A002200010040-0 25X1 TOP SECRET The Novogrudok Barracks Area is located 2.5 kilometers (km) southwest of Novogrudok (53-36N 025-49E) (Figure 1). The installation is not rail served, but it is located on an all- weather highway which connects Novogrudok and Novoyelnya. Lida Barracks and Training Area SE (AL 2), located approximately 35 km north- west, is the closest military installation. The barracks area covers approximately 75 acres and includes two administration buildings, five barracks, 15 storage buildings, 13 support NPIC/R-282/64 Road Service The installation is served by the all-weather Novogrudok-Novoyelnya Highway. There is good access to other all-weather roads which radiate from Novogrudok to Gorodeya, Baranovichi and Lida. buildings, five vehicle sheds, an athletic field and a small arms firing range. The area was covered by missions between 25X1 D I Comparative analysis revealed a heavy 25X1 D level of usage during this period with lighter usage during the winter months. Significant 25X1 D changes since I include the addi- tion of two multistory barracks and a large equipment storage /maintenance building. Administration and Troop Housing Areas This area (Area D, Figure 3) contains two multistory administration buildings, five multi- story barracks, and seven support buildings. Two administration buildings and three barracks were observed on TOP SECRET Approved For Release 2006/01/17 : Cl coverage, and one new barracks was observed on coverage. Trackage observed on all photography indicates the area is occupied. General Storage Area The storage area (Area E, Figure 3) con- tains eight large and seven small buildings. Equipment Storage/Maintenance Areas Area J (Figure 3) contains five vehicle sheds with the following dimensions: 130 by 60 feet, 240 by 40 feet, and three 190 by 40 feet. Six sup- port buildings are located in this area. These 0 all photography indicating the area is occupied. Athletic Field One athletic field (K, Figure 3) is located in the barracks area. Small Arms Firing Range One 400- by 75-foot small arms firing range (L, Figure 3) is located outside the secured area.
