This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA/CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production

and a probable military
storage area are located (Figure 1) on the east
edge of Karniz-Boloto (53-59N 027-50E) and 20
kilometers (km) northeast of Minsk (53-54N
027-44E). The Minsk Petroleum Storage
Gorodishche is situated in a wooded area on the
north side of the Minsk-Borisov rail line and the
probable military storage area is on the south
side of the rail line. The Minsk Army Barracks
Uruchye (AL-1) is located 9 km southwest and
numerous other military installations are lo-
cated in the Minsk area.
The Minsk Petroleum Storage Gorodishche
is served by a rail spur from the Minsk-Borisov
rail line and by a secondary access road con-
necting to the Minsk-Borisov primary dual-lane
highway. This installation covers approximately
84 acres and contains 13 large, semiburied,
vertical POL storage tanks, one probable ad-
ministration building, two large storage build-
ings, four small storage buildings and 13 support
buildings. A newly constructed POL transfer
point containing two storage buildings and five
support buildings is located in the eastern sector
of the installation. Dense foliage precludes
identification of additional tanks or facilities.
The probable military storage installation is
also served by a rail spur from the Minsk-
Borisov rail line and by a secondary access road
connecting to the Minsk-Borisov primary dual-
lane highway. This installation consists of a
separately secured storage area and a separately
secured support area. The storage area covers
approximately 36 acres and contains 26 storage
buildings, one possible administration building
and eight support buildings. The support area,
connected by road to the storage area, covers
approximately eight acres and contains one
administration building, three barracks, two
storage buildings and four support buildings.
Both installations are ' covered by II

occurred at both installations
TALENT and KEYHOLE coverage with no
apparent changes
Significant changes to the A4insk Petroleum
Storage Gorodishche include expansion of the
facility by approximately 34 acres, the addition
of 11 semiburied, vertical POI. storage tanks,
two storage buildings, four support buildings, and
the POL transfer point including two storage
buildings and five support buildings.
Significant changes in the probable military
storage area include the addition of eight stor-
age buildings and one support building. Changes
observed in the secured support area include
the addition of one storage building and one sup-
port building.
