The photographic analysis is being performed by the \1'1C: Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (\PlC), and the Production Center IPlc (DIA). I"he photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the 1\1'1(' Photographic Analysis Group. In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those app_aring in the project re(I uirement. Al hen a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. TOP SECRET CHESS RUFF TOP SECRET CHESS RUFF 25X1 D Borisov Army Barracks is located in Borisov between the Moscow-Minsk Highway and the Moscow-Minsk rail line (Figure 1). Urban streets provide access to the highway and rail system. Borisov Army Barracks and Maneuver Area West (AL-1 and TA-1) is to-- cated approximately 2 kilometers (km) west. Borisov Army Barracks South and Training Area 2 (AL-2 and TA-2) are located approxi- mately 5 km south. The installation covers approximately 70 acres and includes two administration build- ings, seven barracks, 10 storage buildings and NPIC %R-289 /54 19 support-,buildings. The installation also contains two vehicle parks, two vehicle sheds and one maintenance building. The area is covered by_TALENT pho- tography and -KEYHOLE Missions between Comparative analysis revealed the same general level of usage between with reduced usage during the winter months. All-weather city streets connect the instal- lation to the Moscow-Minsk highway. Area D1 (Figure 3) contains an adminis- tration building and seven barracks, three of which were constructed between Area D2 (Figure 3) contains an administration building. Track activity throughout indicates probable occupancy of all buildings. The level of track activity has remained about the same. 25X1 D 25X1 D Area El (Figure 3) contains four large and six medium storage buildings and one sup- port building.
