Launch Area I (59-20N 4)-26E) consists complex support facility (Figure 1). The area of a completed Tvpe IID launch site and a site can be negated on support facility. One large earth-banked missile- ready building, canted outward about 30 degrees, is to the rear of the left pad. Two earth- mounded, canted buildings are located inboard and adjacent to each long, paddle-shaped pad, and two earth-mounded buildings, one the control building, and two smaller earth-mounded build- ings, are centered between the pads. A cable- way extends toward each pad from the control building and an erector /shelter is positioned on each pad. A pattern of ground scars extends forward of the launch site to points approxi- mately 1,400 feet north-northwest of the left pad and approximately 2,000 feet north of the The site support facility is about 2,800 feet southwest 'of the 'launch site. -photography revealed 24 buildings, 12 of which are barracks-type, and at least 3 addi- tional buildings under construction. It is located 13.5 nm east of the complex support facility in a wooded area that has been partially cut over (Figure 2). The area can be negated on The launch site, approximately 2,000 by 1,700 feet, is probably secured by a double fence although it cannot be seen in its en- tirety. Two narrow earth-banked missile- ready buildings are behind the right pad, one canted outward about 25 degrees. Two earth- mounded, canted buildings are inboard and ad- jacent to each long, paddle-shaped pad, and two earth-mounded buildings, one the control build- ing, and three smaller earth-mounded buildings are centered between the pads. A cableway ex- tends from the control building toward each pad, and an erector/shelter is positioned on each pad. Ground scars forward of the launch site extend to a point approximately 2,000 feet The site support facility, about 2,500 feet southeast of the launch site, contains at least 16 buildings, including at least 6 barracks- type, and one additional building under con- struction.
