The launch site is secured by a double
fence enclosing an area approximately 2,000 by
1,800 feet. One large earth-banked missile-
ready building, canted outward about 30 degrees,
is to the rear of the left pad. Two earth-
mounded, canted buildings are located inboard
and adjacent to each long, paddle-shaped pad,
and two earth-mounded buildings, one the control
building, and two smaller earth-mounded build-
ings, are centered between the pads. A cable-
way extends toward each pad from the control
building and an erector /shelter is positioned on
each pad. A pattern of ground scars extends
forward of the launch site to points approxi-
mately 1,400 feet north-northwest of the left

which are barracks-type, and at least 3 addi-

Launch Area J (59-06N 49-45E) consists of
a completed Type III launch site and a site
support facility. It is located 13.5 nm east of
the complex support facility in a wooded area
that has been partially cut over (Figure 2).
The area can be negated on
The launch site, approximately 2,000 by
1,700 feet, is probably secured by a double
fence although it cannot be seen in its en-
tirety. Two narrow earth-banked missile-
ready buildings are behind the right pad, one
canted outward about 25 degrees. Two earth-
mounded, canted buildings are inboard and ad-
jacent to each long, paddle-shaped pad, and two
earth-mounded buildings, one the control build-
ing, and three smaller earth-mounded buildings
are centered between the pads. A cableway ex-
tends from the control building toward each pad,
and an erector/shelter is positioned on each
pad. Ground scars forward of the launch site
extend to a point approximately 2,000 feet
The site support facility, about 2,500 feet
southeast of the launch site, contains at least
16 buildings, including at least 6 barracks-
type, and one additional building under con-
struction. Clearings may indicate further
construction.
