The Putilovo Missile Research and. Development (R&D) Facility occupies
an area of approximately 26 square nautical miles (nm) about 28 nm NE of
Moskva, USSR, near the Zagorsk Rocket Engine Test Facility. The Putilovo
facility consists of a support area containing research, storage, and hcus-
ing components and at least 3 test areas including a test track, weaponE
test cells, and a horizontal test area.
The horizontal test area (see enlargement in illustration, page 2)
contains an older test position with an associated. revetted. structure ar,d
a nearby newly identified test position. Blast scars are visible at both
test positions. A high-bay support building is located in the center of
this test area, and. continuing construction activity can be seen in the
western corner of the area.
