The visible length of this ship at present, apparently without the bow portion in place, is approximately 480 feet. Two large openings in the hull are visible, with the centers of the openings approximately 200 and 310 feet, respectively, from the stern. The after hull opening appears to be similar, except for positioning, to a probable KASHIN-Class DIG observed under construction on the same building way in This ship, when completed, will be longer an wi er in beam an the KASHIN Class DLG. The stern and visible bridge configurations are similar to those observed on the new 530-foot surface combatant previously reported in the fitting- out basin of this yard (P.I. Notes 26/66, 4 March 1966). The position- ing of the aftermost large hull opening of the ship under construction, which resembles a set of KASHIN-type gas-turbine exhaust stacks, equates to that of the 530-foot combatant. (TOP SECRET RUFF) NORTH VIETNAM Analysis of reveals that segments of North Vietnamese Routes 15 and 119 are being bypassed by a new road under construction. The road extends northwestward from Lang Chien on Route 119 (20-21N 105-12E) to a point on Route 15 one nm southeast of the intersection of Routes 15 and 154 (20-33N 105-01E). The southernmost 3.3-nm segment of the new road under construction follows the general alignment of an old cart track and appears to be completed and serviceable. The remaining portion of the road is in various stages of construction. (CONFIDENTIAL) -2- Handle Via TTW~??
