WEAPONS TESTING RANGE
VOROSHILOV (SKODA) ARMAMENT PLANT
DUBNICA NAD VAHOM, CZECHOSLOVAKIA
The Voroshilov (Skoda) Armament Plant, the leading producer of
artillery in the European Satellites, is located immediately northeast of
Dubnica nad Vahom, Czechoslovakia. Associated with this plant is an
explosives plant located south of Dubnica nad Vahom and a weapons
testing range located in a forested valley 2 miles east of Dubnica nad
Vahom and approximately one mile southeast of the armament plant
(see Figure 1).
The weapons
testing range consists of
observation or instrumentation
propellants,
ppears to be in the initial
stage of construction. An adjacent rectangular area 300 by 215 feet has
been built up and is being leveled, probably for additional construction. A
large excavation made into the side of a hill immediately west of the range
appears to be the source of the large amount of fill being used in the con-
struction.

No. 133, February 1956.
