OPERATIONAL HEXADIC SAM SITES AND SUPPORT FACILITIES
SINO-SOVIET BLOC COUNTRIES
This brief presents a .complete tabulation of operational, hexadic
surface--to-air missile (SAM) sites and support facilities in_Sino-Soviet
Bloc countries identified from all types of photography available at
CIA/PIC.
It is interesting to note that of the 133 SA.M sites identified to date,
The following tabulation includes not only a total count of sites and
support facilities at complexes, but also a net yield from each source of
photography (KEYHOLE system, TALENT system, and other). The
column titled "Other Photos" includes small-format aerial, ground, etc.
This tabulation does not include the hexadic R & D and training SAM sites
at the Kapustin Yar Missile Test Center or the R & D-type .SAM sites at
Sa.ry Shagan Antimissile Complex, nor does it include the 33 identified
herringboneSAM sites ringing Moscow.
