LOCATION: 44 nm southeast of reference point. FUNCTION: One of a group of sites deployed for the defense of Moscow. SITE STATUS: Probably complete and operational. REMARKS: This is the first known photographic coverage of Herringbone SAM Site E-15. Site is irregularly-shaped, and is located in a generally cleared area on the outer herringbone defense ring. Although the single small-format aerial photograph is of extremely poor quality, visible service roads indicate that Site E-15 prob- ably has 60 launch points. Poor quality of the photograph precludes identification of a Yo-Yo radar or housing facility, both of which are normally associated with this type of site. MAPS OR CHARTS: ACIC.
