SUMMARY
Tashkent is situated in the sandy lowlands of the Chirchik River
Valley. Itis the largest and most important city in Soviet Central. Asia.
Four SAM launch sites deployed for the defense of Tashkent have been
identified on KEYHOLE photography of These sites are 25X1D
within a radius of 8-14 nautical miles from the center of the city. No
SAM support facility was identified in this area. A study of TALENT
photography of revealed that none of these sites existed at
that time. The suitability for interpretation of the Tashkent 25X1 D
photography precludes further analysis. In.Figures 2 through 5, the
SA.M site configuration as interpreted from the KEYHOLE coverage has
been overprinted on TALENT photography.
