REMARKS-
A probable radio beacon is located at the northwest edge of Novo-
semeykirso, USSR, 14 nautical miles north-northeast of Kuybyshev,
at 53?2.3?'1 /50?2O1E. The station contains 3 large buildings probably
housing transmitters, 4 cooling ponds, several smaller buildings, four
615-foot self-supporting towers positioned to foam a 275-foot square
(tower group A, on the accompanying illustration), four 350-foot self-
supporting towers positioned to form a 190-foot square (tower group B)
2 probable self-supporting towers, numerous stick masts, and Z double
rhombic antennas (items I and 2) o A possible dissipation line within each
of the rhombics indicates a transmitting capability. Data on, the rhombics
are given in the following table (numbers are keyed to the illustration)

Although this station is called, by the Air Target Chart cited, a
very high frequency broadcasting station, it is probably the medium -
frequency radio bea.con reported to exist in the Kuybyshev area (see

presence of equipment normally associated with medium-frequency
transmission, namely, rings at the top of each self-supporting tower,
probable top-loading capacitors, and a ground screen at the base of
each tower.
