Mechanical fabrication and assembly is es-
sentially completed. There remains some electrical assembly and
troubleshooting prior to presentation of the equipment for final
acceptance.

Fabrication of parts is complete with the
exception of some work remaining on the main casting. Some de-
lays are being encountered in the area of subcontract machining.
Assembly
Some subassemblies have been completed. Main
assembly has not been started, although it is planned to be
started shortly even though the main casting is not completed.

the same delays and in addition, is being given a
second place F on the major machining operations. This
is due to the desire to expedite the fabrication as much as 25X1
possible.
Assembly
Except for certain subassemblies, assembly

has not begun.
PROBLEM AREAS
Considerable difficulty has been experienced
in the installation of the electrical components and in the ad-
justment of the circuit parameters in the servo control. system.
It is believed, however, that most of these problems have been
resolved.

Main problem in fabrication of parts is the
handling and subcontract machining time required for the main
castings. Certain machining operations must be subcontracted due
to the size of the parts. As a consequence, is approxi-
