(S/NF/SK) Source had some initial problems with AOL and
false labelling perhaps due to the immensity and complexity of
the site. Men sitting with their knees and arms crossed became,
"statues". A possible tarpaulin covered rail car became a
"covered wagon" on a dusty road. After some frustration on the
parL of the Source and some stern directions by the interviewer,
the Source "locked on to the proper site and began providing
much unambiguous data pertaining to the various known gestalts of
the site. According to Source the site is, "brown, dirty and
rocky (and) contains old vehicles, rounded, hard, parked in the
dirt". Men at the site, "wear protective clothing, carry things
and enter the vehicles from the side", a possible reference to
the actual method used to on a train car. Inside one of the
vehicles Source perceived it as being, "new inside, not as old,
panelling, a big area, relaxing, an area +or the passengers".
The concept of a train was, in the opinion of the Interviewer,
expounded upon in a description of a "large vehicle, more square,
where the driver sits it's smaller...more modern...big, thick,
:1. t. doesn't drive very fast, much workings inside, bulky,
thick slow feeling..." Later Source continued to describe these
powerful vehicles as, "...sluggish, slow moving, much fixing,
always fixing, weighs tons and tons, levering, powerful when in
use, now they're off..." The sound of, "cheee cheee cheee" (like
a steam exhaust when stated), was perceived by Source along with
smells of, "dirty, oily, fumey and smokey" along with a repeat of
the sound, "cheee cheee cheee" now associated with smells.
3. (SiNF/SK) The yards themselves were not as definitively
reported on by Source who perceived the area as, "rocky,
outdoors, brown, dusty, arid with little stones or rocks and no
activity...with a large structure near this place." The
structure was perceived as, "square, going to a point, thin,
tall, squares, not complete..." An accompanying post session
sketch seemed to indicate that Source had perceived one of the
surrounding smoke Stacks and not one of the yard shops. Other
data pertaining to the structures could not be positively
at to the concepts of yard shops at this site.
