SUBJECT : _ Report and 1967 Technical Development Plan
1. The IIS report as you know indicates that its group has gone
deeply into the area this division has requested be studied. Our under-
standing was that the =would not include this area in its study.
2. A reading of the = report raises the question as to whether or
not the requested study of "Reporting Techniques and Equipment" is now
needed, particularly as far as the computerization of typesetting and com-
position are concerned. We are, however, unclear as to the degree of the
automation of graphics production that can be expected to result from the
- study.
3. We would appreciate hearing the views of you and your staff on
these questions.
