1. On 11 March 1961, the Air Force ordered ten and the Army ordered
one photo titler through the contract facilities of DPD/DD/P, Contract No.
EG 4-OO, Task Order No. 3 The prototype titter is
presently at NPIC and does not provide sufficient characters which Would
have to include security classification, code words, mission nos., pass nos.,
photo nos., etc. It is estimated, for NPIC use, these photo titlers would
require a minirruiof 45 characters and it is understood that the titters
provide a ritaximi i of 11.
2. Eastman Kodak, informally discussing said contract
on a previous visit, wanted to know whether he should continue fabrication
of these photo titlers or if the Army and Air Force wanted to terminates the
contract.
It is requested that the Army and Air Force SIOs inform their
appropriate personnel in the Organization to evaluate this prototype
photo titier as soon as possible to determine whether the photo titler
contract should be continued or terminated.
