In accordance with your direction, during the conference held at our
facility, on 14 May 1965, we are pleased to submit herewith for your consideration
a CPIF proposal in the total .amount of o furnish the following 25X1 A
equipment:
Unit No. I - Universal Data Block Reader (Punched Card and
Magnetic Tape Output)
Unit No. 2 - Universal Data Block Reader (Magnetic Tape Output)
This proposal is submitted in anticipation of a CPIF contract divided
into two phases, as follows:
Phase I - Design and Breadboard (Units 1 & 2)
Phase II - Fabrication and Test (Units 1 & 2)
Total
Enclosed herewith as Attachment (A) for your assistance in the evaluation
of this proposal are cost breakdown shoots for Phase I and Phase H. Although
this proposal is submitted and based on a two-phase program, we are submitting
herewith as Attachment (B), for information purposes, a cost breakdown sheet
for Unit No. 1 and Unit No. 2, which are priced out with a proportionate sharing
of the R&D costs. We wish to clearly indicate that all of this cost information
is based on your procuring Unit No. 1 and Unit No. 2 simultaneously within the
two-phase CPIF program.

Based upon your authorization to proceed by 1 June 1965, the schedule
for this program can be as follows:
Phase I - 1 June 1965 to I November 1965
Note: At this point in time our report for Phase I (design and breadboard)
will be submitted for your review and approval. It is expected that your review
and approval will be accomplished within a 30-day period, and therefore Phase II
can be scheduled to start 1 December 1965. With a Phase II starting date of
1 December 1965, delivery of Unit No. 2 can be accomplished during April 1966
with Unit No. 1 delivered during July 1966.
This proposal includes Best Commercial type Drawings and Engineering
and Maintenance type Manuals. Also, it is expected that you will furnish, as
GFE, an IBM Model 514 Ivi IJ 2 and that your computer facilities are available
to us,rification of tapes, on a rent-free basis.
We trust that this proposal is complete for your evaluation, However,
