HEADQUARTERS XVIII AIRBORNE CORPS AND FORT BRAGG FORT BRAGG. NORTH CAROLINA OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL 16 May 1963 Thank you for your note. Certainly I cannot imagine anything pleasanter than having you and Perot turn up in the Land of the Morning Calm, but it .seems a mighty remote possibility, as you would be the first to admit. I would of course like very much to suffer your brainwashing procedure, not excluding the deep-dish martinis. Ur nano of the General Officers Branch is setting up briefings for me in June, and I am certain CIA is included. I simply don't know,,how to serve properly in Defense of Peace and Freedom in the Far East -without your valued association. HAMILTON H. HOWZE Lieutenant General, USA Commanding Lieutenant General Marshall S. Carter Deputy Director of Central Intelligence Agency Department of the Army Washington 25, D.
