ATTENTION
SUBJECT Evaluation of Zoom Tube Magnifiers
1. The Photographic Analysis Group has completed the
evaluation of two tube magnifiers. These are the 6.4x
to 18X and 7.5X to 18X magnifiers manufactured by
The consensus of the Photographic Analysis
Group is that these are of no interest. The main
objections to their use is distortion in the field of
view and the out-of-focus condition present when the
magnification was changed (focus is not continuous through-
out the zoom range). The magnifiers were large and heavy
which also detracted from their value.
2. The Photographic Analysis Group would not be interested
in purchasing either of these items.
