Palo Alto Dump
(Palo Alto, off Embarcadero)
Directions: SEE MAP; Take Laurel Street south to Willow Rd.; turn left on Willow; turn right on
Middlefield Rd.; follow Middlefield out to Embarcadero Rd.; take Embarcadero Rd. left (East); you will
pass Highway 101; you will pass the sewage treatment plant on the right; turn right at the end of
Embarkadero and drive down to the entrance gate of the Palo Alto Municipal Refuse Disposal Area; the
Guard my not let you in unless you are a Palo Alto resident and have something to dump; if you do not
qualify, all you can do is park near the entrance.
Target: The target is the Palo Alto Municipal Refuse Disposal Area (i.e., the Dump). The dump is
located near the bay. The dump is an open dirt area frequented by scavenging Seagulls. As trucks bring
rubbish into the dump, large earth moving machines work to cover the piles over with fresh dirt. The
earth moving machines leave behind tracks and earthen mounds.
