STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING tion File Note and Return I p roval For Clearance Per Conversation Requested For Correction Prepare Reply culate 11 ir For Your Information See Me mment Investigate Signature Coordination Justify REMARKS 1. Was informed by Dr LaBerge's office that the proposed meeting of the committee, 30 Oct, is still on. This follows meeting late last Friday between Dr LaBerge and Adm Murphy's deputy, Mr Strivers. Strivers met with Dr LaBerge, after he found out that LaBerge wanted to speak personally with Adm Murphy on his objections to the meeting. (Note: This reinforces my opinion that it was Murphy's staff who objected strongly, not Murphy) 2. Dr Davis called early this AM to say she could not make the meeting -- she had to make one with Mr Duncan in DOE. I explained the dile1ma -- she had heard about the brouhaha with Murphy's office -- and she said that it was important enough for her to cancel with Duncan. She understands our position on steering/working groups leadership and need for R&D community to take charge.
