MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Monthly Exchange of Ideas, Technical Advances
and Future Plans: AMSAA and INSCOM GRILL FLAME
Personnel (U)
1. (U) On 8 May 1979, the monthly meeting between AMSAA
and INSCOM GRILL FLAME personnel took place at Aberdeen
Proving Grounds, Maryland. The following personnel attended
the meeting:
MAJ Watt, Project Manager, INSCOM
1LT Atwater, Assistant Project Manager, INSCOM
Lynne Taylor, Project Manager, AMSAA
Three other members of AMSAA GRILL FLAME staff.
2. (S) Lynne Taylor informed us that AMSAA has been tasked
by Dr. LaBerge, Under Secretary of the Army, to find out if
psychic phenomena really exists and to develop a program that
would prove/disprove such a theory. No definite element of
psychic phenomena (i.e., Remote Viewing, PK) was identified.
AMSAA has until the first of the year to develop a program.
3. (S) Lynne Taylor informed us that the contract had
been let with SRI on 23 April 1979. The total contract was
for $190,000 and is entitled "Special Orientation Techniques".
I asked Ms Taylor to send us a copy of the finalized contract
--she stated that one would be forwarded shortly.
4. (U) We spent about 30-45 minutes reviewing some of our
reports. AMSAA personnel were very interested in them and
had no negative comments to make.
5. (S) We discussed the "targeting" of Dr. LaBerge as proposed
by MAJ Stoner, OACSI. We agreed on procedures to follow and
what date/time would be used by both elements.
