An intensive study of all SAM sites within a radius of 75 nautical miles (nm) of the six Soviet ICBM launch complexes -- Itatka, Kostroma, Shadrinsk, Verkhnyaya Salda, Yoshkar-Ola, and Yur'ya -- was conducted on all available KEYHOLE photography. The results of the study are: the SAM sites remain as previously identified; no new sites are in evidence; no unusual activity that could possibly be associated with any new defensive missile system was observed; and nothing unusual was noted at the known deployed SAM sites defending the ICBM launch complexes.
